Press release -
Lindab’s roof safety assortment now available on world leading BIM platform
Lindab's full range of roof safety products is now available at BIMobject Cloud, the world's largest and fastest growing platform for digital copies of building products. The agreement is a step in Lindab's long-term digitalisation efforts.
Lindab aims to be the leader in digitalisation and is actively looking for partners that can help us achieve that goal. BIMobject is an established company and the fastest growing platform on the market. For us, collaboration is a natural step in increasing accessibility and creating the best possible user experience for the buyers and users of our products and solutions, says Christian Svensson, Strategic Program Manager Building Products and Solutions at Lindab.
BIM modelling is increasingly used in the construction and installation industry to streamline and improve work. Constructing, for example, an industrial facility or school building digitally, minimizes the risk of errors and facilitates communication between the various members of a project. Many manufacturers are making digital copies of their products available. Unlike conventional designs, digital copies, which can easily be downloaded to a BIM application, include everything from geometry to product specifications and maintenance descriptions.
BIMobject AB, headquartered in Malmö, Sweden, is the world's largest and fastest growing platform for digital building products. The agreement between Lindab and BIMobject means that Lindab's full range of roof safety products is now published on BIMobject's platform, BIMobject Cloud, where it is fully available to architects, contractors and builders, for free. Since the platform is regularly updated, users can be sure to always access the latest product updates.
–Digital copies of Lindab’s products are available on the corporate website. Together with BIMobject we further increase accessibility, initially in the European markets where we have an established local organization that can assist with advice and support, says Henrik Bengtsson, Development Manager Building Products and Solutions at Lindab.
The construction and installation industry is undergoing a rapid digitalisation process with the use of digital tools expected to increase in the future. Electronic substrates are, for example, increasingly requested in procurements. From Lindab's perspective, this development is solely positive.
–BIM modelling, and the use of digital copies of individual building components, facilitate collaboration between all parties involved. As understanding in a project grows, the risk of errors decreases. That in turn saves everyone involved both time and money, says Christian Svensson.

At Lindab, good thinking is a philosophy that guides us in everything we do. We have made it our mission to create a healthy indoor climate – and to simplify the construction of sustainable buildings. We do this by designing innovative
products and solutions that are easy to use, as well as offering efficient availability and logistics. We are also working on ways to reduce our impact on our environment and climate. We do this by developing methods to produce our
solutions using a minimum of energy and natural resources, and by reducing negative effects on the environment. We use steel in our products. It’s one of few materials that can be recycled an infinite number of times without losing any of its properties. This means less carbon emissions in nature and less energy wasted.
